VISITATION IN TULARE,
CALIFORNIA

FireStarters Ministries is a ministries of support.  We have been blessed to work with evangelist
and pastors in both Canada and the U.S.  Serving in many areas such as altar ministries,
preaching, street ministries, and storehouses for the poor, along with other helps in the church.

During the summer of 2003 the Lord has placed us in the small town of Tulare, California where
we have been the witness of a mighty move of God.  You will find a small church on the wrong
side of the tracks surrounded by gangs, drive by shootings, prostitutes, drugs, violence and
poverty.  Yet at Jubilee Christian Fellowship, a small simply church, on the corner of “G” and Inyo
Street, a Visitation is happening.

People come from around the world to sit in the awesome Presence of God.  The prostitutes and
gang bangers are coming in off the street and turning their lives over to Jesus.

September 2002 Pastor Ken Bowman was given a vision from God telling him He was going to
come to His church in a mighty way and to prepare.  Pastor Bowman told his congregation.  The
church was in poor physical condition so the pastor began the work to improve the appearance.
The walls are still bare, the floor covered with torn carpet, the entry way still in construction.  The
church still needing much repair but God doesn’t always wait for our timing.  The altar was
finished and God came.

How do you explain the move of a most Holy God?  His ways are different then ours.  We plan and
we discuss – He just does.

No Sermons just a simple prophetic word or scriptures read, no worship just a CD playing over
and over and the wondrous Presence of God moving through the church.  There is no other way
to explain other than it is a piece of heaven invading earth, a sovereign move of God.

The people come night after night. They come in and sit down but then come to realize the service
began when they walked in the door as Holy Spirit moves over them.  Some stand, some lay on
the floor, some weep, some dance – each one with their Lord.  Each one met in a most personal
way.  Lives changed, bodies healed, a depth as never before known is discovered.

The church is open for all at day break. Evening services start at 7 p.m.  They come so cautiously
with looks of great hope.  Could it be true?  Is He really here?  One gets up from his wheelchair
and walks another sets his walker aside finding he no longer needs it, another squeals with
delight as she realizes she can hear.  A small deaf boy sitting on the platform begins to hear for
the first time, a woman blind for two years is able to look upon her grandchild for the first time as
her sight becomes clearer each day, a drug addict crumples in tears at the touch of God, a
prostitutes cries out to God to help her so she doesn’t have to sell her body any longer.  Too
many to mention.  Over 400 salvations from people walking in off the streets.  The hungry fed both
physically and spiritually.  A homeless man comes for food and finds himself standing in the
church with the glory of God around him.  Amazed as the power of God hits him.  Amazed that
these people accept him with open arms as the love of Christ flows through them.

The compassion, Presence, and power that flow from heaven are wondrous.  Peace consumes
the people as they enter stopping in amazement as they feel the tangible Presence of God.

The cost?  When the Pastor told his congregation about the word from God they didn’t listen.
When God came they left.  The church declined to seven.  Why?  They want it back the other way.
Have we gotten so involved in programs that we don’t have room for God.  The fruit is great.
Doesn’t our Lord tell us we will know them by their fruit?

Should you come the church on an early morning you will see a humble man tending the
gardens.  Should you ask who he is he will tell you he is the gardener.  How many pastors would
step back and be the gardener of their church building and hand it over to the one it is truly all
about.  After all, it is truly all about Him the mighty one.  Jesus Christ our Lord.

We give Glory to God for all He is doing in Tulare and
are humbled that we are able to be a part of it.
